Excellence in Education

For our providers, education doesn’t stop when they get their certification cards. Each EMT and Paramedic undergoes an intensive field training process before they are released to provide care independently, and are required to attend continuing education events throughout each year to ensure they have the highest level of proficiency possible in every aspect of practicing prehospital medicine.

We also conduct initial certification courses for EMT-Basic, generally in the spring and fall. These 220-hour courses exceed the minimum state EMT curriculum, and are designed to prepare the new EMT to function at a high level in progressive, high-performance EMS systems.

Many of our continuing education opportunities are open to providers from other EMS agencies; check the list of upcoming events to the right for more information!

How We Train

Sitting in a classroom and reading slides doesn’t prepare a provider for the street; this is why we integrate simulation-based scenario training into all of our continuing education programs.
